Something Fishy takes great care in preparing your livestock for shipment. We pack each piece inside 4mil bags. They are then placed inside a large bag and a styrofoam box. A corrugated shipping box then holds the styrofoam box. Heat or cold packs are added if needed. All of our livestock is shipped via UPS
There are no additional charges for packing, boxing, or heat/ice packs. Upon shipment of your order, we will notify you of total of your order with shipping charges and your UPS tracking number.
Due to the nature of the livestock we are shipping and the nature of the shipping business, your shipment may not travel as smoothly as we wish. If any of your livestock is dead upon arrival, you must contact us within 24 hours of signing for the package via phone, email, or fax. We also will need a photo of the DOA. The cost of the item(s) will be applied as a store credit to your account (sorry, we cannot refund your credit card for losses). There is no reimbursement for shipping. This credit may only be used on a future purchase. We cannot guarantee live arrival in severe weather conditions (under 40F or over 85F).
If you are not available to directly receive the package upon the first delivery attempt, we will not guarantee the live arrival of the items ordered.
In the case that your package is delayed or damaged in shipping, you must file a claim with the shipping company.
All livestock will be ship overnight via UPS. Live rock and live sand can be shipped two day air or ground to any destination in the 2-day ground delivery zone.
Livestock - Ground Shipments:
We will offer ground shipping on livestock to destinations in the one day delivery zone. These areas include central & eastern PA, NJ, NY, CT, DE. However, since longer transit times may occur, WE CANNOT OFFER OUR LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEE ON ANY GROUND SHIPMENT.
Something Fishy reserves the right to change the "Shipping Method" and "Shipping & Handling Charges" if the selected Method will not ensure live arrival of livestock ordered.
In-store Livestock Purchases:
WE CANNOT OFFER A GUARANTEE ON ANY LIVESTOCK PURCHASED IN-STORE
While we make every attempt to maintain product availability status on our website, sometimes shortages do occur. If you order a product that is out of stock, we will notify you by email. We will ship the back-ordered item when it is available, unless you notify us.
All orders are shipped via UPS Ground. Overnight and second day shipping is available at an additional charge. In-house products are typically shipped within two business days, drop shipped items may take longer. UPS ground shipments usually take 3-10 business days for delivery, depending on your location. Tracking numbers will be supplied when available; however, we cannot supply tracking numbers on drop-shipped items.
UPS usually requires a signature at the time of delivery. We do not send packages "No Signature Required." If you wish to have your package left without a signature, please put a note on the door for the carrier. We are not held responsible for packages released without a signature. In the event that your package is lost or stolen, it is your responsibility to file a claim with the carrier.
Upon receiving your shipment, please inspect the package for any damaged items. We must be notified any damages within 48 hours of delivery. Please do not refuse delivery of damaged packages unless we instruct you to do otherwise.
If you wish to return an item, you will need to obtain an RMA number. Please contact us with your name, invoice number, item you wish to return, and reason for the return.
Return items will be accepted under the following conditions:
-The item must be unused in the original condition that it was received with all accessories and paperwork, and must be in salable condition.
-The item must include an RMA#.
-The item must be received within 30 days of the purchase date.
We are not held responsible for any returns that are damaged in shipping. Be sure to properly pack the item in an outer box with packing material. Also, be sure to insure your return with the carrier.
Returned items that are not in salable condition will either be returned to the customer or incur a 20% restocking fee. Shipping charges to or from the customer are not refundable.
Defective Merchandise/Warranty Policy:
If you receive a defective item, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery. We will advise you the procedure of getting your item repaired or replaced. We can replace most of the products we sell; however, some manufacturers prefer to deal directly with the customer. If you are required to return the defective item, please include the original box, all paperwork, and all accessories.
Orders cannot be cancelled after they have been shipped. Refused orders are subject to a 20% restocking fee, as well as shipping charges and return freight charges. Orders cannot be refused or cancelled due to shipping delays.
Product Pricing and/or Description changes :
From time to time, manufacturers change product designs and pricing. All pricing, pictures, and descriptions on our site are subject to change without notice and we maintain no responsibility for inadvertent errors.
